Bayliner 185 with 3.0 Mercruiser Inboard on Trailer Here I have for sale my Bayliner 185 fitted with a Mercruiser 3.0 inboard and Alpha outdrive. I’m very sad to see this boat going as it’s be brilliant fun and unlike other boats I’ve had n the past, this one has never let me down. I now however need to grow up and move out so need to put together a house deposit. I’ve had the boat for around 18 months and have covered as an estimate around 150 hours on her in that time off the east coast. The engine has been flushed with fresh water for at least 10 minutes and washed with Meguiars gel coat care after every use. As a result, the gel coat is in fantastic condition not only for its age but its actually better than a lot of boats I’ve seen at the boat ramp that are only a couple of years old. The engine was winterised last year then serviced just before I took the boat and was serviced again before this season comprising: Oil and filterAir filter washed outFuel separating fuel filterAlpha stern drive fluid changedControl cables adjusted and greased All electrical contacts greased with waterproof grease All parts used were direct from the Mercruiser dealer. I have receipts to prove and the boat also has loads of previous paperwork dating back for years. The interior of the boat I would describe as good for its age (see pictures). Up until I took it on, it had been stored in a barn on the trailer when not in use however I don’t have a barn so it’s been kept on the drive with the all weather cover on which works just fine. The trailer itself is perfect. Earlier this year whist towing to the ramp, the axle collapsed on me – it literally bent around 30 degrees. I took the trailer to a boat trailer specialist at the boat yard who told me that it’s quite common for this to happen on these American trailers as the axle is hollow and water can sit inside it and corrode it from the inside out. So I had a complete new SOLID axle, brakes, brake cables, bearings fitted at a cost of £516.00 (receipt with paperwork). That was two months ago and the trailer has covered around 100 miles since then. The galvanising on the trailer is still good so it’s effectively a new trailer. I could talk about this boat for hours but not sure what else to mention on here. One thing I will say is that I know that this is a good boat and although I need the money for my deposit, I’m not really prepared to drop the price for a quick sale. Any questions or to arrange a viewing just give me a call or drop me a message on 07977 243 202.
