13ft Speedboat for sale, with 50hp Mariner engine. I have no idea what the make of the boat is but have been told/advised that it could be a Broom from the late 70s/early 80s, which is why I’ve listed it as such, but do not take this as gospel. I bought this last year because I always wanted a boat and had a good few weekends of fun in it down on our local river. Unfortunately, time, money and life in general has now caught up with me and I just don’t have the time to get the engine working properly again and I don’t want her sat in our front garden wasting away and rotting when someone else could have the same enjoyment that I’ve had with her, I’d much rather she went to a good home and someone could give her the TLC she needs. The engine at present is non-running, it turns over fine, seems to have a good spark and I’ve compression tested it and all seems ok, it would appear to be an issue with fuel (pump, or carbs at a guess), it would not surprise me if all it actually needs is a bloody good service, it could even be as simple as stale fuel because I havent changed the fuel out since last year when I finished using it. When running, it runs well and I do have video of it running late last year. The engine has full forward controls, including all cables, full electric start and electric tilt/trim. The engine is a Mariner 50HP 2 stroke from 1988. The boat itself floats perfectly and is really easy to launch/recover and can be done by one person, it is surprisingly light consider the GRP construction and weight of the engine and can be handled in the water with ease. With its current engine, I managed to top it out at 34.2 Knots. For its age, its is pretty good condition with the usual dinks, scrapes and scratches underneath but nothing major. The paintwork has started to fade over the years but still has a shine to it and with a good polish should still looks good, the front where the cover didn’t quite reach is the worst and has faded. The windscreen has seen better days and looks like its never been replaced, non glass, its 8mm perspex and would possibly want replacing, although it does not detract from the function of the actual boat. I always intended replacing it but never actually got round to it. The boat also has full teleflex steering for full control from the front of the boat. At some time before I got it, someone has tried repainting it and hasnt done the best of jobs, from a distance it looks absolutely fine but when stood close to it you can notice if your looking for it. It was fully rewired last year with new cabling the full length of the boat for all electrics (nav lights, bilge pump, starter etc). There are two front bucket type seats and a bench seat across the back with plenty of legroom, will comfortably fit a family of two adults and two children. We’ve had two adults in the front and 3 teenagers in the back without any complaints but it suits two in the back better, to be honest. It comes on a Rapide GP16 Roller trailer in perfect working order, the bearings were replaced last year and it tows/pulls extremely well, although not moved for a few months now so I will give it a good greasing before the auction ends.
