Broom Aries, GRP, 15ft speedboat, on snipe galvinised break back trailer. Hasn’t been used for years, but was upholstered, a couple of years before, so seats are in quite good condition, apart from one little split in rear seat and the staples used to fix the material are rusting, so will need restapling. The carpet may clean up, after rain water ingress. Also due to the rain water ingress, the plywood floor will need repair/ replacing, below the front seats, I think you will able to cut a section out and let a piece in.The grp is in quite good nick, but has some age related marks, scratches, chips and some crazing, also there is a little damage to the gel coat underneath, this is only about an inch long, so easy repair. The boat is complete with steering, in fact this was a new cable, fitted just before it was laid up.Please note , this DOES NOT have an engine. In all a lovely looking boat and decent trailer, (which is suitable for slightly longer boat also.)Easy project, just add an engine and you could be in the water in less than a week. Collect from Mersea Island , Essex. May be able to deliver if not to far. Thanks for looking,

I am selling my Broom Saturn speedboat with Honda 40 HP 4 stroke outboard and new upholstery complete with trailer. This is a great opportunity to buy a classic and stylish speedboat built by Jack Broom of Brundall, Norfolk. I have gone to great lengths to retain the original look of this classic boat by retaining the original steering wheel when the steering mechanism was updated and having the wooden framed seats rebuilt by a joinery company and then re-upholstered by Broom Boats of Brundall (hence the photo taken outside their workshop). The seats haven’t even been sat on yet! The outboard is a Honda 40 HP 4 stroke engine which has recently been serviced (receipt can be supplied). I run the engine periodically to keep it moving. The engine was bought from Bill Higham Marine and has not had a great deal of hours running since it was fitted. Why am I selling it? Well, I simply don’t have time to use it and I think I would get better use out of a motorhome, so I need the space on my driveway. The hull is in good condition for the age of the boat and has only got the usual scratches and dinks that you would expect. There are some sticker marks where stickers have been previously but these could easily be blended out with some TLC, but again I don’t have the time to give that level of attention. This boat is good to go as it is and would grace any waterway. With a bit of a polish it would look even smarter! The boat has recently been inspected by a professional boat surveyer and given a clean bill of health. Come and give the boat an examination before making your decision and have the opportunity to buy a beautiful and elegant boat. Please note that I have included a photo of us using the boat on the River Cleddau in Pembrokeshire. The engine has been serviced since then as that river is tidal. The stickers and the standby outboard featured in that photo are not included in this sale.

1975 Broom 30.BSS to May 2022Original gel coat to hull and superstructure.Full length double glazed alluminium doors to wheelhouse.Double layer holly and teak internal floor to wheelhouse, galley and fwd toilet.Single Perkins 4.108 serviced annually.Shore powerVictron 12/25 battery chargerCalorifier/immersion heaterWarm air diesel heating2 x sea toilets (aft fitted with diverter valve to stainless holding tank)Upholstery replaced in fwd and aft cabins along with “Dri mat” anti condensation matting.Sideboard/cocktail cabinet top replaced.New thermally lined curtains and curtain rods fitted throughout.Blinds fitted to wheelhouse and aft cabin.Loose carpets fitted to insulated fwd and aft cabin floors.2 x new 125 Ah leisure batteries.New exhaust water trap.New steel accumulator expansion tank.New auto bilge pump, float and switchThis boat has undergone substantial refurbishment over the last 4 years including all windows being removed and refurbished, all internal wooden linings and panels replaced, making this Broom 30 totally watertight. All deck fittings were removed and deck undersides reglassed for strength before refitting.New coated safety wires to stanchions and fittings. To list all of the work carried out would not be possible in this advert but interested parties can email for a full list of what has been done to the boat along with a portfolio of when the boat was being refurbished. This has been credited as being one of the best Broom 30’s seen by renowned boat builder Kingsley Farrington and it really needs to be seen to be appreciated. For in depth information about this boat please email or text. The reason we’re selling is because due to other commitments we just haven’t been able to use the boat as it should be and it’s with regret that we have decided to sell it. To find a Broom 30 that has no window leaks or water ingress damage would normally be an impossible task, but this Broom 30 genuinely has no issues as its all been done.We know the history of this boat from the day it was manufactured and supplied to the Lord Mayor of Northampton back in 1975. There is a substantial file that accompanies the boat and we have a massive file of photographs detailing the work that has been carried out on the boat. There are a few Broom 30’s still for sale but the difference with this one is that its not hiding any expensive defects like windows leaking, loose deck fittings, spongy decks or damaged rotten internal wooden linings. This boat is not a project, its a classic that simply needs to be looked after. This is a genuine honest sale of a classic boat.We are boat transporters by profession, and as such, we would be willing to transport Cicada anywhere in the UK, at cost price.

This is a much loved speedboat which we are regrettably selling due to buying a bigger boat. 2 Seasons ago we installed a NEW marinised 5lt Chevy V8 which puts out 250hp. The engine is barely run in. The boat runs beautifully and cuts through the waves really well due to the deep V hull. Top speed we have had with 4 of us on board was 48 knots. Lots money has been spent with no intention of selling her, all gauges have been professionally refurbished. On board there is: A Garmin plotter with fish finder and depth, a heater for the cabin, 12V cigarette lighter socket to charge a phone. ICOM VHF radio, fog horn, Nav lights and fenders The outdrive which is a Volvo Penta AQ280D was professionally reconditioned 3 years ago. New stainless steel prop Electronic Bennett Trim tabs The upholstery and new dashboard we done around 5 years ago. There is a 4 wheel braked trailer which I will take a photo of which is included. There is a full cover that protects the paintwork that is in very good condition with slight signs of use. We have owned the boat for 12 years and has been the best fun for the family. Any questions more than happy to answer them, can see engine running out of the water. Cash on collection only Buyer must collect Happy bidding
