16ft (4.9m) Orange Fletcher with 50HP Johnson Outboard (early/mid seventies vintage). I’ve had this boat for a couple of years now and have used it many times on the River Crouch in Essex. It goes like a rocket at full throttle (around 35 knots). I’ve not done too much to th boat in that time, exept removing some blue decals that someone had put on the boat (I’ve polished out the “ghost” left behind on the starboard side but never got around to the port). The boat was stored on a farm for years before I got it and was kept dry all that time, so the interior is rock-solid – all I’ve done is put in a new bilge switch, new fuel tank and battery; both the rev and speedo work fine. The steering is the older cable type, but it has been well maintained and works perfectly (nice and light, lighter than a teleflex system) – It even has the original makers plate/hull number on the dash (which states that it’s rated for 4 persons and outboards up to 55HP). The trailer is in good condition and was originally galvanised. I gave it coat of paint last year to make it look smart and two new wheels+tyres. I also replaced the bearings; thats both sides, inner and outer including new races and seals and it rolls like it’s on rails. I also replaced the Jockey wheel, Winch and hitch last year, so all the important parts are nearly new. It even has the original makers (snipe) plate on the axle. The outboard is a 1972 50HP Johnson 2 Stroke and runs great. It is manual tilt and trim. I’ve not done too much to it over the last couple of years, except a new water pump and impellor + new thermostat and front water jacket gasket – The prop is in good condition and is a 17p. I think someone may have painted the hood at some point, not sure, but I think it used to be orange to match the orange boat? I have a tatty green tarp I use to cover the boat that I’ll throw in, I’ll also include some heavy-duty “curtain-sider” fabric (white) so you can make a really decent cover for it at your leisure. You’ll need a light-board and strap to tow it away. It’s dimensions are: – Total Length (including the trailer and outboard in the down position): 5.5m Total Length (boat and outboard in the down position): 4.9m Width: 1.6m Pick up is from mine in Maldon, Essex (obviously there is NO postage for this item, ebay seem to have removed this option from the listing setup for some reason) – You are welcome to come see the boat prior to bidding (just drop me an email)
